The optimism of industry players towards investment in 2026 emphasizes the strategic role of industrial estates as a motor of national economic growth through government and private synergy in creating a competitive and sustainable investment ecosystem.
Jakarta, Agung Intiland News – Industrial estate business actors in Indonesia show optimism about the realization of national investment in 2026, following the positive trend of investment achievements throughout 2025 and efforts to strengthen the investment ecosystem through collaboration between the government and the private sector.
According to the management of the Indonesian Industrial Estate Association (HKI), the development of industrial estates has the potential to be a motor for investment growth amid global economic dynamics and increasing demand for integrated industrial facilities.
The latest data shows that the realization of investment in industrial estates throughout 2025 will reach around IDR 6,744.58 trillion, growing 9.26% compared to 2024, with the number of industrial estates increasing and the absorption of labor by around 2.35 million people. Industrial estates also recorded the dominance of Java Island with more than 59% of the total operating area in Indonesia.
In addition, the contribution of industrial estates and their tenants to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached nearly 9.44% based on data from the third quarter of 2025, reflecting the sector's role in supporting the domestic economy.
Akhmad Ma'ruf Maulana, Chairman of IPR, said that synergy between regional developers, governments, and stakeholders is the key to greater investment realization in 2026. "Industrial estates are not just factory land; This is an ecosystem of the future that combines technology, logistics, energy, and talent to create a strong investment attraction," he said.
Ma'ruf also emphasized the importance of resolving spatial and licensing barriers so that Indonesia can maximize opportunities from global supply chain relocation as well as increased foreign investment interest in sectors such as electric vehicles, modern logistics, renewable energy, and data centers.
Industry players hope that this momentum can push Indonesia closer to a higher economic growth target, with the role of industrial estates further strengthened through responsive policies and harmonization of cross-agency regulations. (JP)
